Oregon CCB license renewal checklist
Not legal advice. This page summarizes public information as of October 14, 2026. Rules and fees change, so confirm with the linked official source before you act.
CCB licenses run for two years and renew for $400 (see our license guide). Letting a license lapse means you cannot legally bid or work until it is active again, so start early.
Checklist
- Find your expiration date on the CCB license search. Put a reminder 60 days before it.
- Continuing education. Residential contractors must complete continuing education to renew. Hours depend on how long you have been licensed. Confirm your requirement on the CCB website and keep your certificates.
- Bond still in force and on the correct amount for your endorsement (current amounts).
- Liability insurance current, with the CCB listed as certificate holder.
- Workers' comp if your status changed and you now have employees.
- Update business details: address, owners, RMI, business name registration with the Secretary of State.
- Renew and pay through the CCB, then confirm the new expiration shows in the license search.
Tip: renewal, bond and insurance often land in the same few months. Budget for them ahead of time.
